David Schmid

David and his wife Elaine (Kotrous) Schmid died as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Stanton County.

David L. Schmid was born Sept 17, 1946 to Robert & Viola (Eller) Schmid at St Marys Hospital in Columbus NE. He grew up in Bellwood and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1965. David later attended Milford Technical College. David began work with Gerholds in Columbus, and later worked at Garretson Equipment, before moving to Norfolk and working for Andrews Van Lines, until his retirement in 2004. David and Elaine (Kotrous) were married in 1991 and resided in Norfolk, NE.

David is survived by 2 children Cory L. (Cheryl) Ditter and his mother Sheila Hilger of Columbus, NE and David F. (Rachael) Schmid and his mother Elaine Bosak of Columbus, NE; 4 stepchildren Melinda (Ronnie) Smith of Norfolk, NE, Patrick (Tina) Bolich of Sioux Falls, SD, Tonja Hunter of Lincoln, NE, and Bryan Bolich of Sioux Falls, SD; 3 brothers James R. (Peg) Schmid of Bellwood, NE, Patrick J (Brenda) Schmid of Lincoln, NE, and Robert J.(Betty) Schmid of Myrtle Beach, SC; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
