David M. Goering

David Milton Goering of Platte Center died Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.

David was born December 18, 1941 in Platte Center to Milton and Velma (Kallweit) Goering. Before the age of four, Dave developed diabetes, which he battled all his life. He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Grand Prairie, near Platte Center and graduated from Humphrey High School in 1960. Dave married Patti Weber in Crofton, NE on August 17, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

David always dreamed of farming and raising hogs. He got to live out his dream. He enjoyed family, playing cards, bowling, and driving around the section in the evening to inspect crops. As his children will remember, Dave HATED WEEDS!. In 2008 Dave and Patti left the farm and moved into Platte Center. Daves last 5 months were spent at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.

Sisters-in-law: Judi (Larry ) Voecks of Norfolk, NE and Kristi Massey of Sioux Falls, SD
Mother-in-law Margie (Dale) Haug
Numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law.
