David Czapla

David Czapla of Columbus died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Columbus Community Hospital.

Dave Czapla was born May 3rd, 1949 in Columbus to Raymond and Henrietta (Mielak) Czapla. He grew up in Columbus and graduated from Scotus Central Catholic. Dave was united in marriage to Gina Soden on September 15th, 1973 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus. To that union was born two children, Courtney and Josh. Dave worked for a short time in construction with his father Raymond before gaining employment with the City of Columbus. After 38 years of service with the Columbus Street Department, Dave "Zippy" retired in 2011. Dave was a devoted husband to his wife Gina. His family always came first. In retirement he enjoyed his lawn and garden, but most of all his children and grandchildren. He was a friend to all and was always available when needed. Dave was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
