David D. Aikins,CMS, 55, of Bellwood, Nebraska, died Thursday, September 15, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Columbus, Nebraska, after a defiant battle against stomach cancer.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 20 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Columbus with Pastor Robert Molby officiating. Interment will be at a later date. There will be a memorial gathering on Monday from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, followed by a scripture service at the McKown Funeral Home in Columbus.

David was born March 4, 1956 in Columbus, Nebraska, to Larrell L. Aikins and Norma J. (Paprocki) Aikins. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1974 and was manager of Larrell's Sound Center in Columbus. David moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he was an executive loan officer. He published many books on Loan Modification and Rehabilitation Loans. He was an accredited college instructor and lecturer. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, teaching, archery, swimming, and sports. David returned to Bellwood, Nebraska, this summer due to health reasons.

David is survived by:

Sister - Debra Aikins of Columbus, NE
Sister - Darla (Aikins) Monico of Cedar Creek, NE
Nephews - Nathan and Connor Monico
Aunts - Annette (Ed) Sokol and Connie Seals
Great Uncle - Rosmund Paprocki

Grandparents - Kenneth and Alice (Butler) Aikins, and Dennis and Clara (Korus) Paprocki
Great Grandparents - Ulysses S. and Sophia (Schwin) Aikins
