David Kallhoff age 77 of Columbus died Thursday, May 7, 2026 at his home in the care of his family.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Monday. There will be a 7:00 p.m. vigil service all at the McKown Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted by The American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard.

David was born February 25, 1949 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Carl and Marcella (Lordemann) Kallhoff. He grew up in the Petersburg area where he graduated from Petersburg High. He Served in the United States Army from 1969-1971. David was married to Janice Joy Gaver on October 23, 1971 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. He worked for 47 years at Behlen Manufacturing in many capacities. He enjoyed hunting deer and waterfowl, and the occasional pheasant, asparagus hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family. David cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, they were his light. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

David is survived by his wife Janice Joy Kallhoff, children: Wendy Kallhoff, Karrie Kallhoff and Andrew (Amber) Kallhoff.

Grandchildren: Gage, Taylon, Joey, Charley, Marcella, Vivianne.

Siblings: James Kallhoff, Kathy Mack, Carol Becher, Sandy (Duane) Kerkman, Dennis (Marcia) Kallhoff, Dan (Karen) Kallhoff.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Marcella Kallhoff and daughter: Stacy Lynn Kallhoff.
