Daniel died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.
Daniel W. Rush was born June 19, 1947 in Red Oak, Iowa to George W. and Charlotte (Carpenter) Rush. At age 17 he left the family farm and moved to Omaha to go to trade school. After graduation he held various jobs in the Omaha and surrounding states. In the 1960's, 70's and 80's he was a country singer. He and his band known as "Midwestern Shorty and The Neon Cowboys" were well known in Missouri, Kansas and other southern states. In the late 80's he returned to Fremont to care for his ailing father. While Daniel was at trade school he met a young woman named Blanche Cuba who was going to business school. Daniel and Blanche's paths separated for many years until 2007 when they were reunited.
