Daniel Janssen

Daniel Janssen, age 73, died Monday, June 10, 2024, at his home in Columbus.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, at McKown Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Escen officiating. The family will receive friends over coffee and donuts Friday from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Private family burial is in Columbus Cemetery.

In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be designated to YFFC or to the family.

Daniel Janssen was born October 5, 1950, to Gib and Betty (Beierle) Janssen. He attended District 28 school and later graduated from Platte Center High School in 1968. Dan briefly attended college before going to work with his dad at the family business, Janssen Enterprises. He then moved to Texas where he started his own pilot car business until he retired. Dan enjoyed his acreage and country living in Texas, gardening, and taking care of his fruit trees. He moved back to Nebraska to be close to family, especially his great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
