Dale A. Lutjens

Dale A. Lutjens, age 86, of Platte Center died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln.

Dale A. Lutjens was born November 6, 1926 in Platte Center, NE to Arthur and Emma (Goering) Lutjens. Grew up on the family farm by Platte Center where he attended District 35 school and graduated from Platte Center High School in 1945. Dale attended Milford College to study auto mechanics. Dale worked for Nielson Chevrolet for a couple of years. On August 17, 1949 he was united in marriage to Ruby Holy at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus. They moved to the farm in the spring of 1950. Farming and feeding cattle were his pride and joy. Dale loved helping neighbors with their mechanical needs which led to a small business, Lutjens Repair. He loved bowling, ballroom dancing, operating his pay loader, going to cattle sales, listening to polka shows on TV and radio, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and previously on the Platte Center CO-OP Board and Zion Lutheran-Grand Prairie Church Board.

Six Grandchildren- Ryan, Lucas (Anna), Michael, and Kyle Luckey,; Sarah and Cole Lutjens
Two Great Grandchildren Elliot and Kodee Luckey

Sister Leola Beckstrom of Westminster, CO
