Craig Olsufka, 41, of Platte Center, died Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Columbus Community Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2024 at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29. There will be 4:00 p.m. Vigil service, all at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Interment is in St. Patrick/St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in rural Platte Center. The family encourages everyone to wear their Craig's Fight shirts.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
Craig was born on August 26, 1983 in Columbus to Dave and Diana (Thompson) Olsufka. Craig received his education from Columbus High School, graduating in 2001. On October 24, 2009 Craig was united in marriage to Beth Greisen at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. Craig worked at Godfather's Pizza where he made a lifetime of friendships and memories. In 2006 Craig joined Union Pacific Railroad, where he worked for many years. He was known for his dedication, hard work, and camaraderie with his colleagues. Craig was a devoted father, loving son, great brother, and a friend to everyone he met and touched. Craig held a special relationship with his godfather, Paul. Craig was loved like a brother and son by his in-laws, including his brothers and sisters-in-laws and his mother and father-in-law.
He was a loving father to Elijah, Olivia, and Ellorie. Craig was deeply involved in his childrens' lives always there to support them in their activities and proudly coaching their sports teams. His dedication to his family was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
An avid outdoorsman, Craig enjoyed all aspects of nature, especially deer hunting with his family. His love for the outdoors was matched by his passion for sharing those experiences with his loved ones. Whether it was a fishing trip, lake day, sporting event, or helping brother Eric drag a deer out of the woods, Craig made every outing memorable.
Craig was also known for his kindness and his ability to make friends easily. His warm spirit and generous nature touched the lives of many, and he will be remembered for his ability to light up a room with his presence. Numerous relatives and friends will dearly miss his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support and presence. Craig's legacy of love, friendship, and passion for life will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
