Craig Ehrenberg, 70, of Columbus, died Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his home.
Visitation is 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14th, at McKown Funeral Home. The visitation will continue Thursday morning, May 15th 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Craig's Life from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m., all at McKown Funeral Home. Following, Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Hartman Post 84 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family suggests donations made in his name to the ACLU.
Craig was born in Benson, Minnesota on June 17, 1954, to Donald Ehrenberg and Lanora (Gades) Sharstrom. He grew up in Willmar, Minnesota. Craig enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and while enlisted he attended UNL earning his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Craig left the Marine Corp in 1984 and went on to work for NPPD for 38 years. Craig married Robin on March 19, 1977, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Craig enjoyed working out, being outdoors, landscaping, camping, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Platte Valley Playhouse for many years where he served most recently as the Set Chairsperson.
