Clarence Colfack, Sr. of Columbus died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Columbus Community Hospital.

Clarence Colfack was born May 3, 1925 in O'Neill, Nebraska to Fred and Coila (Strong) Colfack. He grew up in Ewing, NE. Clarence served in the US Army during World War II and while stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas, he met his future wife Beatrice Glaunert and they were married on March 3, 1945 in Gainsville, TX. In 1965 they moved to Columbus where Clarence worked at Gerhold's, M&H Gas, and later worked for Becton Dickinson until he retired in 1987. Clarence was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, collecting antiques, coins, and going to garage sales. He especially enjoyed family gatherings like the many picnics and holiday get togethers with all of the family. Clarence enjoyed playing Santa at Christmas for his many grandchildren.
