Clarence Coffin

Clarence L. Coffin, age 97, of Osceola formerly of Shelby, Nebraska died Tuesday March 18, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Osceola. Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday March 20, 2003 at the McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with Reverend Gary Main officiating. Burial is in the Circle Mound Cemetery in Rising City, Nebraska. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home and 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Thursday also at the funeral home.

Clarence L. Coffin was born October 27, 1905 in Germantown, NE to Charles & Ida (Porter) Coffin. He married Rose Thompson on October 27, 1926 in David City. The couple lived and farmed in Butler and Polk County. In 1966 Clarence retired from farming and moved to Shelby where he worked for Shelby Elevator. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, cards, dancing, and fixing clocks.
