Clarence Bruns, 86, of Columbus died Tuesday, March 18 at his home. Services are 10:00 am Saturday, March 22, 2003 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with the Rev. Chris Grimmond officiating. Visitation will begin on Friday at 3:00 pm with a Vigil service at 7:00 pm at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues on Saturday morning from 8-9:30 am, also at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery with military honors by Hartman Post # 84 American Legion Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to the donors choice.

Clarence Dale Bruns was born February 28, 1917 to John and Bertha (Kamm) Bruns. He grew up in Platte Center, Ne and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp 58th Fighter Group during WWII from February 25, 1943 - December 1, 1945. On November 21, 1951 Clarence was united in marriage to Eleanor Czuba in Columbus. The couple made their home in Columbus where he owned and operated his own upholstery business until retiring. Clarence was a member of St. Anthony Church, V.F.W. #3704 and Hartman Post #84 American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren.

His is survived by two sons; David and Larry (Kristi) Bruns, both of Columbus, daughter Mary Ann Bruns of State College, PA, and daughter Genene (Steve) Hurt of Columbus, one sister; Marie Muhle of Columbus, four Grandsons and one step-granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by his wife Eleanor, parents, two sisters; Lorene Allison and Edna Bruns in infancy, and three brothers; Delayne, Andy, and Marvin Bruns.
