Clare M. Swiatek was born November 27, 1930 in Spalding, Nebraska to Frank and Balvina (Sturek) Swiatek. She attended grade school in Wheeler County and received her G.E.D. in Grand Island. Clare was a nurses aid for 16 years and worked in housekeeping at the Columbus Community Hospital. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and St. Theresa Sodality and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
