Clara Ann Olsan, age 82, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Golden Living Center. She was born July 29, 1933 in Platte County Nebraska. Her parents were Alois and Barbara (Kosiba)Chochon of Tarnov, Nebraska.
Clara attended school at St Michaels in Tarnov, Nebraska. On November 21, 1951 she was united in marriage with Alex Olsan at the Saint Michaels Catholic Church in Tarnov. After some time apart during the Korean War and a brief stay in California and 10+ years on a farm in Clarks they moved to Columbus in 1975.
Clara worked at Becton-Dickinson and Dale Electronics for a number of years. After Dale Electronics she worked as the buffet cook in New World Inn for more than 20 years. Cooking was her true passion which many people enjoyed the fruits of her labor. Besides cooking Clara enjoyed polka dances, weddings, and family gatherings. Clara has been a long and faithful member of St. Anthonys Church.
Clara is survived; by her sons Randy and Arita Olsan of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and John and Sandy (Davis) Olsan of Columbus, brother: Virgil and Elaine Chochon of Columbus, sisters: Irene Backes of Columbus, Sr. Margaret Chochon O.F.M. of Colorado Springs, CO, Her grandchildren include Cole and Diana (Olsan) Rose, Tony and Jennifer Olsan, Samita Olsan, Natashya Olsan, Lyndsey Olsan, and John Jr. Olsan. Her great grandchildren included; Kayli and Karla Olsan, Kristopher Olsan, Audrina Rose, Kali and Lilli Olsan. Additionally Clara has numerous nieces and nephews surviving from both sides of the family.
She was preceded in death by; her parents Alois and Barbara Chochon, husband Alex, brother Richard Chochon and sister-in-law Mary Chochon and brother-in-law Victor Backes of Columbus.
