Charol Zakrzewski

Charol Zakrzewski lost her battle to cancer and peacefully passed on Friday, November 18, 2022. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and her loving husband and caregiver Donald Zakrzewski.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation is Monday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service, all at the church. Visitation will continue from 9:30 until service time Tuesday at the church. Burial is in All Saints Cemetery.

Charol Ann (Tibbetts) Zakrzewski was born May 21, 1955 in O'Neill, Nebraska to Arthur "Bub" and Charol (Watson) Tibbetts. Charol was joined in matrimony to Donald Zakrzewski on October 3, 1972. After raising her four children, Charol and Donald moved to Genoa in 2003 where she lived the remainder of her life. Charol had a passion for the outdoors. She enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing and spending time with her family. Charol is survived he her husband Donald, three daughters and spouses: Jennifer (Andy) Jakubowski, Jayme (Aaron) Puntney of Columbus, Lisa (John) Dougherty of Platte Center, 12 grandchildren: Morgan (Andy) Roesener, Marcus, Ashley, Lexi & Ryan Jakubowski, Cheydon & Mason Puntney and Emily, Kortney, Devon and Jazlynn Dougherty. Three great grandchildren: Ryker Puntney and Hadley and Kinley Roesener. Charol is also survived by her sisters and spouses: Debra (Dale) James, Diana (Larry) Burival, Mary (Ron) Liska, Doreen Tibbetts, one brother: Chuck Tibbetts along with many nieces and nephews.

Charol was preceded in death by her parents, Charol and Bub Tibbetts, Son: Justin Zakrzewski, grandson: Kaleb Puntney, grandparents and great grandparents.
