Cecilia Schmid

Cecilia A. Schmid, age 95, of Columbus, Ne. died Sunday February 18, 2001 at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday February 21, 2001 at St. Isidore Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home.

Cecilia A. Schmid was born November 21, 1905 near Humphrey, Nebraska to August and Anna (Ripp) Hamling. She attended school at St. Mary's near Humphrey. She married Herman Schmid on September 15, 1925 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The couple lived on a farm near Humphrey until moving to Columbus in 1927. Cecilia was a homemaker and enjoyed doing volunteer work. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the Christian Women.
