Cecilia "Cece" Magdeline (Pfeifer) Heimann, 92, formerly of Columbus, NE, passed away at Heritage Pointe in Omaha, NE on August 20, 2020.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2020 at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation is 5:00-6:30 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Vigil service Thursday, August 27, 2020 at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. All regulations regarding mass gatherings will be observed.

In lieu of plants and flowers, donations may be made to St. Isidore Church or the St. Augustine Indian Mission in Winnebago, NE.
Cecilia was born November 19, 1927, in St. Bernard Township, NE to Frank and Marie (Glaser) Pfeifer. She married Harry (Henry) Heimann, her husband of 69 years at St. Bernard Catholic Church in St. Bernard, NE on October 2, 1946. Together they had six children and lived most of their lives on a farm just outside of Columbus.
Cece was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother. She raised a powerful garden every year and put "summer in a jar" for her family and those privileged to share the blessings. Her fried chicken and potato salad were second to none. She was dedicated to her Catholic parishes over the years, more recently St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus, and was involved in Christian Mothers and various volunteer organizations in Columbus over the years.
Cece was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, and a grandson, Ben Cunningham. She was also preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Liz (Martischang) Pfeifer and eight of her nine brothers and sisters. Those were Lambert, Henry, Sr. Vanora (Henrietta), Ed, Luella, Margie, Anthony and Joe and several in-laws.
Survivors include her six children, Janet (Larry) Shriver of Cedaredge, CO, JoAnn (Jim) Spurgin of Omaha, David (Tsuneko) of Okinawa, William (Teresa) of Hays, KS, Mary Clare (Barry) Bruns of Cheyenne, WY, and Laura (Bob) Lauenroth of Denton, NE. Cece also has 17 surviving grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She has one surviving sister, Mary Ann (Tudy) of Phoenix, AZ, three sisters-in-law, Cathy (Henry) Pfeifer of Norfolk, NE, Dee (Joe) Pfeifer of Serena, IL, and Pat (George) Heimann of Fremont, NE, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ben and Ethel Heimann of Fairfield Bay, AR.
