Cecile Defreece

Cecile DeFreece, age 99 of Columbus died Thursday, February 13, 2025.

Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus. Interment will be in the Columbus Cemetery.

Cecile married Clifton J. DeFreece in February of 1949 and together they worked side-by-side in the restaurant business from 1951 to 1984, including Kings / DeFreece's in Columbus. Cecile was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Cecile and Clifton enjoyed square dancing and were very active in the local Harolds Squares dance group. Cecile and Clifton were also great supporters of the Columbus High School wrestling team.

Cecile is survived by sons Michael (Marcia) DeFreece , Randall (Cherie) DeFreece, Garry DeFreece, grandchildren Jeff, Michelle, Todd (Kourtney), Joslyn, Kristyn, Kaitlyn, Ashley, and Jeremy; great grandchildren Mason, Madison, Mitchell, Leighton, Finn, Oliver, Kinsley, Blake, Lawson, Izaiah, Jakob, Henry, and Alex.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clifton, and siblings.
