Catherine C. "Kay" Herchenbach, age 79, of Columbus, Nebraska formerly of Lindsay, Nebraska died Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at the Countryside Home in Madison, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2005 at the Lindsay Holy Family Church with Reverend James Novotny officiating. Burial is in the Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation is 2:00p.m. - 5:00p.m. Sunday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and after 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening with a 7:30p.m. Vigil Service at Holy Family Church. Visitation continues Monday morning from 9:00a.m. - 10:00a.m. also at the church.
Catherine C. Herchenbach was born June 1, 1925 in Pierce, Nebraska to Charles and Katherine (Haferland) Magsamen. She attended grade school in Petersburg, Nebraska and high school in Albion, Nebraska. Catherine married Mark Herchenbach on April 10, 1945 at Sacred Heart Church in Cornlea, Nebraska. The couple lived and farmed in the Lindsay area. In 1985 Catherine moved to Columbus. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. Catherine enjoyed bowling, dancing, sporting events and restoring antique religions items. She was a member of St. Isidore Church, Christian Mothers Ten Mums Card Club and was a Meals On Wheels Volunteer.
