Carolyn Swantek

Carolyn D. Swantek of Columbus died Sunday, July 19, 2026 in Norfolk.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Tuesday, July 28 at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation is Monday, July 27 from 5-7 pm at St. Isidore Church with a Vigil service to follow at 7:00 pm, also at the church. Visitation continues on Tuesday morning from 9:30 am until service time at the church. Interment is in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery-Pilzno.

In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are encouraged to the family or to the church.

Carolyn D Swantek (Boelter) was born Oct 26,1942 to Robert and Geraldine (Muckendorf) Boelter in North Bend, NE. Carol grew up in Dodge NE, the oldest of five children. As a young child Carol enjoyed ice skating, playing the drums, swimming and going shopping with her aunt Ruth. After graduation Carol and her close friend moved to Columbus, NE. Carol was offered a job at Dale Electronics in Columbus where she would work for 50 years. In November of 1961 Carol met her future husband, Stanley Swantek. They both attended mass at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, where Stan and Carol were both in a hurry to get to a polka dance and ran right into each other in the hall leaving the church. When Carol arrived at the dance Stan spotted Carol and told his friend that is the “Woman I am going to marry”. On September 1st, 1962 Stan and Carol were joined in marriage at St. Wenceslaus Church. During the first 20 years of marriage the two would go on to foster many children. They loved to go camping, go dancing, and spending time with family. They welcomed their first son Michael in 1983 and second son Jared in 1984. Carol would go on to have 5 grandchildren Malaki, Zoii-Jade, Analisa, Alexis, and Carolyn.

Carol kept herself busy with her family and friends and many travels with her niece Shelly. She had good memories about the two of them going to Hawaii, taking Mike and Jared with her mom Geraldine to San Francisco, Vegas, Niagara Falls and many more adventures. Carol even took a fun trip with Jared and her daughter-in-law Jessica to Las Vegas, going to a Husker football game with her grandson, and even drove to Texas one time with all her granddaughters to see her brother Bob. Carol put her heart and soul not only into her family but her faith. She was a member of St. Isidore’s Church.

Carol will be missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her mother Geraldine, husband Stanley, Sister Judith, Brothers Ronald, Kenneth, Robert.
