Carolyn A. Irby

Carolyn Irby died Monday, February 12, 2018 at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.

Carolyn Ann Irby was born September 30, 1932 in Cozad, Nebraska to Robert R. and Fern (Griffith) Good. She graduated from Cozad High School and Stephens College followed by 2 years at UNL. On June 2, 1954 Carolyn was united in marriage to William H. Irby at the First Presbyterian Church in Cozad, a marriage that would last over 63 years. Carolyn and Bill had 4 children; Robert (Maureen) Irby of Columbus, NE, Susan Irby of Minneapolis, MN, Sarah (Mark) Boaz of Omaha, NE and was predeceased by daughter Cynthia Irby.

Carolyn enjoyed supporting her children's activities including Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She also enjoyed playing bridge and community activities. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a dedicated homemaker.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, William (Bill) H. Irby, 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 2 sisters: Jane (Don) Kinnan of Cozad, NE, Mynette (Chan) Komarek of Grand Island, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Cynthia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Federated Church, the Alzheimers Association or Donors Choice.
