Carleta Anderson

November 24, 1944 – August 27, 2025

Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation is Wednesday morning 9:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Burial is in St. Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery.

Carleta Anderson was born on November 24, 1944, in Sidney, Nebraska, to Herbert and Edna Kesselring. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1964 and went on to receive her cosmetology license, a skill she used with flair for over 20 years. Carleta owned and operated several beauty shops in Ogallala and Lewellen, Nebraska, where she not only styled hair but lifted spirits with her warm smile and easy laughter.

She married C. Robert Dishman, and together they raised four beautiful children. In 1986, she married Welby Anderson and spent many happy years on the farm in the Sandhills of Nebraska, where she loved planting flowers, feeding birds, and trying desperately to avoid all rattlesnakes, with mixed results. She lived there until Welby's passing in 2008.

As a child, she cherished memories of visiting her father at the train station where he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. She would tell of the many train rides she took as a child to visit family across the United States. Carleta had a deep and abiding love for her Lord. Her faith was a constant in her life and a comfort to all who knew her. She loved her children and was often heard sharing they were her greatest achievement. She also adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always ready with a warm hug or a witty remark.

She had a beautiful singing voice and was a proud member of her high school, community and church choirs. Carleta also had a knack for sewing, a passion for planting colorful flowers, and a signature fried chicken recipe that will forever be unmatched. Her tacos were pretty legendary, too. She was known for her dance moves at her grandchildren's wedding receptions. They would all line up to dance with her.

Carleta is survived by her children: Corinne (Steven) Fischer, Robin (Gary) Wolvin, Michael (Samantha) Dishman, and Teresa (Robert) Hausmann; her sisters Cleo Fresquez and Carolyn Chaon; 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Carleta went to join her Lord and Savior on August 27, 2025 in Columbus, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, her brother Leighton Kesselring, her twin brother Clinton Kesselring, and her sisters Lula Gordon, Lila Agena, and Lorna Miller.

Carleta was a light in the lives of many; a devoted mother, a doting grandma, a faithful friend, and a woman of faith, laughter, and love. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Memorials are suggested to her grandson, Ernest Hausmann's Foundation: Light Beneath The Well,  % Corinne Fischer, P.O. Box 587 Chappell, NE 69129. The foundation supports humanitarian efforts in third world countries.
