Candy Dempsey

Candy Dempsey, age 64, died Thursday, December 18, 2025.

Memorial services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus. The family will receive friends from 12:00 (noon) - 1:00 p.m. at the church.

Candy Lynn Dempsey was born October 24th,1961 to Charles "Francis" Osborne and Myrna Lou Robb in Goodland, Kansas. She passed away at the age of 64 on December 18th, 2025 at Emerald Nursing and Rehab in Columbus, Nebraska surrounded by her children.

Candy went to Bertrand High school but later received her GED at the Kearney College in Kearney, Nebraska. After school, she pursed being a mother to seven children, working as a CNA in Missouri, bartending at Tiny's Bar in Schuyler, Nebraska, and housekeeping. Candy's favorite things in life were her family and pets, spaghetti, Chili, Gnomes, the color purple, and coloring on her computer. She was always friendly to everyone she met and would always gain a new friend.

Survivors include her dog Lucky, her seven children, Latona Titman of Grand Island, Ne, Betty Smith of Minden, Ne, Brian Dempsey Jr of Windsor, Mo, Tara (Troy) Gaston of Platte Center, Ne, Tiffany Harris of Grand Island, Nebraska, Chad (Sabrina) Dempsey of Grand Island, Ne, and Amber (Quincy Justus) Morales of Fairbury, Ne. Twenty nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, her siblings Linda (Vern) Wood, Sandy (Dale Johnson) Lowry, Duane Osborne, and Vickie (Mark) Evans and an Aunt Judy Kugler.

Candy is preceded in death by her dogs Punky and Jaxson, her cat Rubs, her parents Charles "Francis" and Myrna Osborne, a sister Beverly Ryder, Grandparents Max and Beulah Kugler, and an Uncle Terry Kugler
