Calvin Kucera of Columbus died Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Columbus Community Hospital.
Calvin Kucera was born December 5, 1930 in Clearwater, NE to Adolph and Rachel (Hoffman) Kucera. He grew up in Schuyler where he graduated from Schuyler High School in 1949. Cal married Deloryce Kolar on January 24, 1951 in Schuyler. In 1960, Cal moved to Columbus where he worked construction for a short time before going to work at Columbus Grain/Husker COOP as a millwright. At the time of his retirement, Cal served as the branch manager. Cal also was the owner of Columbus Manufacturing. Cals hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, golfing, and had a passion for polka music. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
