Bruce Murray of Columbus died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
Bruce was born March 9, 1929 in Bloomfield, Nebraska to Arthur and Edna (McCallum) Murray. He grew up in Knox County and graduated from Creighton High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War as a Staff Sgt. Upon returning from his military service, Bruce farmed for several years. He married Rita Sandoz on May 1, 1954 at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton, Nebraska. They moved to Columbus in 1962 where he worked for Metz Baking Co. until his retirement. He then worked at Orion, Menards and Trophy Works. He enjoyed reading and the challenge of repairing anything that was broken. He was a member of Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, St. Isidore Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of the VFW.
