Brian Braithwait of Columbus died Friday, June 17, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Omaha.

Brian Braithwait was born May 2, 1950 in Columbus, NE to Delton and Elizabeth "Bette" (Schwantje) Braithwait. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1968 before serving in the US Army from 1969-1971. He returned to Columbus where he went to work at Becton-Dickinson. On September 1, 1973 he was united in marriage to Deborah Dickenson in Columbus. Brian went to work for Union Pacific Railroad. He moved to Elm Creek, NE working for the railroad and later at Bosselman Truck Stop. Brian then went to work at Dub's Sporting Goods in Kearney before retiring and moving back to Columbus due to health reasons. Brian loved spending time with his children and playing with his grandchildren. He was an avid Turkey hunter and baseball card collector.
