Benjamin Hurner

On Monday, May 29, 2023, Benjamin Hurner passed away at the age of 49. Ben was born April 13, 1974 in Columbus, NE to Bob and Bev (Odvody) Hurner. The Hurner family moved to Monroe, NE when he was young, which is where he graduated high school. He furthered his education by attending Platte Community College and UNL, then was then accepted into Northwestern Health Sciences University where he obtained his doctorate and became a chiropractor.

Ben thoroughly enjoyed fishing and made sure he had a lifetime fishing permit to go whenever he wanted to. He also appreciated the time he spent with his family and friends, whether it be camping, listening to music, playing games, or going to the movies. As his two nieces and nephew grew, he tried to spend valuable time with them and watch them participate in various activities as well.

Grandparents, Leonard and Bessie Odvody

Grandparents, Robert and Leonia (Jensen) Hurner.

He is survived by:

Parents, Bob and Bev Hurner

Brother, Andy (Casey) Hurner

Nieces, Lilyan and Tayla Hurner

Nephew, Wyatt Hurner

Since Ben was an advocate of mental health awareness, in lieu of flowers the family is accepting monetary donations to support mental health.
