Benedict B. Jarosz, age 89, of Platte Center died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Benedict Blaze Jarosz was born April 2, 1927 in rural Tarnov, Nebraska to Mike and Della (Chohon) Jarosz. He received his education at St. Michaels Catholic School in Tarnov. He married Viola Wieser on May 20, 1953 at St. Marys Catholic Church in rural Humphrey. After their marriage they farmed near Tarnov and Columbus and finally settled in Platte Center. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center where he served on the church council, the Knights of Columbus, Shell Creek Township Board, NFO and St. Michaels Historical Society. He enjoyed playing cards, Husker football and volleyball, Royals baseball and WWF Wrestling. His greatest enjoyment came from picking up his grandkids from school, and watching kids, grand and great grandkids sport activities. After retirement he enjoyed working in the garden and various wood working projects.
