Ben R. Chohon

Ben R. Chohon age 101 of Columbus died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.

Benjamin R. Chohon was born June 1, 1908 in Tarnov, Nebraska to Michael and Aloysia (Jarecki) Chohon. He attended St. Michael's Catholic School in Tarnov. Mr. Chohon was a life long resident and farmer in Platte County. On May 5, 1947 he married Theola Barnas at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Tarnov. He and his wife retired in 1974 and moved to Columbus where they were members of St. Isidore's Catholic Church. He enjoyed trapshooting, listening to polka music and watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, wife Theola in December 1994 and sister Genevieve Barnas.
