Barbara Jean Siemek was born November 3, 1910 on the family farm near Duncan, Nebraska to Stephen and Martha (Wozny) Lassek. She graduated from Kramer High School. Barbara married Edward T. Siemek on November 28, 1939 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. For many years Barb was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where she served as an E.M.E. and sang in the choir. She had an intense love of life and a unique awareness and appreciation for nature. Her wonderful enjoyment of people naturally overflowed into the many ways she volunteered her time and talents for others such as Hospice and Nursing Homes to name a few. Giving offered her such joy we know she will be amazed at how many people's lives she touched. God indeed has already said "You knew and loved me in life. I know and love you well in death". From the book of Matthew Chapter 25 verse 40: And Jesus will say to you in reply; "Amen I say to you, whatever you did for one of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
