Barbara Schmidt

Barbara J. Schmidt of Platte Center, NE died Thursday, December 26, 2024, after a short bout of cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Tuesday, December 31 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center.  There will be a 5:00 pm Vigil service on Monday with visitation to follow from 6-7:30 pm, all at St. Joseph Church.  Visitation continues on Tuesday from 9:30 am until service time.  Interment is in Ss. Patrick/Joseph Cemetery in rural Platte Center.

In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are suggested to Saint Joseph's Church and American Cancer Society.

Barbara (Barb) J Schmidt was born October 3, 1943, at St. Mary's Hospital in Columbus to Paul and Helen (Shotkoski) Jazwick. She grew up in Platte Center, where she attended elementary school at St. Joseph's Parochial School and graduated from Platte Center High School. On May 20,1967, she was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Platte Center.

Barb worked at Dale Electronics (Vishay) for 45+ years. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Parish in Platte Center, NE, where she was a member of the Saint Ann's Society, EMHC, St. Joseph's Mission Group, and the Rosary Crusade. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
