Arlene G. Engel

Arlene died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Arlene G. Engel was born January 4, 1943 in St. Bernard, Nebraska to Bill and Esther (Cook) Backes. She graduated from Humphrey St. Francis in 1961. On October 6, 1962 Arlene was united in marriage to John V. Engel at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. The couple moved to Columbus in the late 1960s. Arlene worked for N.P.P.D. for 24 years. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church where she sang in the Glory Bound Choir and a member of the Red Hat Society. Arlene did volunteer work at the Simon House and was on the church cleaning committee. She enjoyed the outdoors, music and spending time with her family.
