Arlene Ahrens

Arlene Ann Ahrens, age 78, of Columbus, Nebraska died Friday May 24, 2002 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday May 29, 2002 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Tom Weisbecker officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00pm - 8:00pm Tuesday with a 7:00pm Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Wednesday from 8:00am - 10:00am Wednesday at the funeral home.

Arlene Ann Ahrens was born October 10, 1923 in Petersburg, Nebraska to Anton and Kunie (Henn) Brinkman. She graduated from Albion High School in 1941. On October 26, 1947 Arlene was united in marriage to Delmer Ahrens in Columbus. The couple lived in Columbus where she worked for Nebraska Public Power District for 50 years retiring in 1991. Arlene was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
