Archie Ziola, age 89, of Columbus, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at Morys Haven in Columbus.
Archie R. Ziola was born January 7, 1924 in Loup City, Nebraska to Mike and Pearl (Demratowski) Ziola. He graduated from Loup City High School in 1942. He served in the United States Navy from 1943-1946 in the South Pacific during WWII. Archie returned to Loup City for a short time before moving to Columbus. He married Louise Smedra on August 30, 1950 in Rockville, Nebraska. He worked at Nielson Chevrolet for 43 years. He then worked as a bailiff at Platte County District Court for 17 years. Archie was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of St . Isidore Catholic Church.
Archie is survived his wife: Louise of Columbus, sons: David (Sandy) of Crete, Ron (Peg) of Columbus, Steve (Shawn) of Centennial, CO, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters: Blanche Blichman and Evelyn Kalkowski.
