Anton &Quot;Tony&Quot; Srb

Anton J. "Tony" Srb, age 92, of Columbus, Nebraska died Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Mory's Haven in Columbus. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2005 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with the Reverend Del Lape officiating. Visitation is Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 8:00 -10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony Church or American Cancer Society.

Anton J. "Tony" Srb was born March 21, 1913 near Madison, Nebraska to Anton and Emma (Hanel) Srb. He attended Leigh Public Schools. He married Beatrice Zacek on November 23, 1939 at St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson, Nebraska. Anton farmed in Colfax and Stanton Counties before moving to Columbus in 1957. He worked for Habco and then for Dale Electronics for 20 years until retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. Anthony Church, Holy Name, Z.C.B.J. Fraternal Lodge in Clarkson and worked bingo. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and bowling.

Three Great Grandchildren: Meredith, Melanie & Jake Purchal all of Dallas, TX

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Joseph Srb.
