Tony died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Countryside Home in Madison.
Anthony Thomas Rosenthal was born August 1, 1923 near Tarnov, Nebraska to Thomas and Cecelia (Syslo) Rosenthal. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from April 1945 - December 1946. On October 10, 1951 Tony was united in marriage to Agnes Sock at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek. The couple lived and farmed near Humphrey for 30 years before moving to Columbus in 1981. Tony worked for Schaben Industries for several years after retiring from farming. Tony was a member of St. Isidore Church, Holy Name, Humphrey American Legion and V.F.W., Humphrey District #67 School Board and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed polka dancing, playing the accordion, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be best remembered for his caring smile and sense of humor.
