Anna Maria Hunter, 61, of Columbus died Sunday, May 23, 2004 at her home in Columbus. Services are 10:00 am Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Bond officiating. Visitation is on Wednesday from 9 am until service time. Interment is in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Anna Maria Hunter was born September 21, 1942 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Frank & Evelyn ( ) Dunham. She received her education in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island High in 1960. She married Cornell Sober Jr. on December 31, 1960 in Grand Island. She received her Associated Degree from Central Community College-Platte Campus and earned her Bachelors Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She moved to Columbus in the 1960's. Along with raising her family she sold insurance in the Columbus area for several years. She enjoyed cats, reading and music.
She is survived by two daughters; Sabra (Rick) Schmidt of Monroe & Cara (fiance' Mike Emerson) Urkoski of Monroe, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Cornell Sober, Jr.
