Alphonse E. Kozak, 85, of Columbus died Saturday, September 27, 2003 at Beverly Health Care in Columbus. Services are 10:30 am Wednesday, October 1 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with the Rev. Del Lape officiating. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 5 pm at St. Anthony Church. There will be a Vigil service at 7:30 pm Tuesday, also at St. Anthony Church. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning from 8-10 am at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Alphonse E. Kozak was born January 19, 1918 in Platte County to Peter and Catherine (Michalski) Kozak. He was raised and attended schools in Nance County. He married Helen Dubas. She passed away in 1948. On April 10, 1951 he married Leona Dubas in Fullerton. He farmed until 1978 then went to work at Behlen Manufacturing for 10 years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus, Holy Name Society, and the Knights of Columbus. He loved deer hunting, gardening, and polish music.
