Alois "Junior" Jarecki, age 79, died Saturday, July 13, 2019 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Monday with a 6:00 p.m. Vigil Service at St. Anthony Church. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Duncan.
Alois Dennis "Junior" Jarecki, Jr. was born December 1, 1939 in rural Columbus, Nebraska to Alois Paul and Mollie (Czapla) Jarecki. He attended St. Anthony Grade School and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in 1958. Junior married Susan Wetjen on April 15, 1989 at St. Anthony Church in Columbus. He farmed with his family his entire life and also bred and raced thoroughbred horses throughout the Midwest. Junior enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, playing cards, horse racing and strategic sports investments. He was a member of St. Anthony Church, Perpetual Adoration and the Knights of Columbus.
