Alice Buresh Loseke, 94, longtime resident of Platte Center/Monroe died Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Esprit Whispering Ridge, Omaha.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Platte Center, Nebraska. A family Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. with Visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be at Clarkson National Cemetery in Clarkson, Nebraska alongside of Reynold Buresh.

Alice was born June 14, 1926, in Platte County near Creston, Nebraska to Rudolph and Margaret (Thomas) Steiner and attended District 45 school up to the eighth grade. She married Reynold S. Buresh on May 9, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leigh, Nebraska. The couple farmed until moving to Platte Center in 1957. Reynold died in a car accident on March 7, 1960. Alice then devoted her life raising her seven children ages 2 – 13, while working various part time jobs.

Alice was united in marriage to Arthur Loseke at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on July 30, 1976. The couple moved north of Monroe, Nebraska where Art farmed and Alice raised chickens. They lived there until moving into Prairie Village in Columbus in December of 2011. Art died February 16, 2012.

Alice was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Platte Center. She took pride being in charge of cleaning the church for many years. She also belonged to the St. Ann Society, Rosary Crusade, St. Joseph Mission Sewing Group, and Platte Center American Legion Auxiliary.

Alice loved visiting with family and friends, playing cards, crocheting, quilting, gardening, and canning. She will be remembered for her warm and gentle kindness, hearty laugh, and her apple pie.

Alice is survived by her son Daniel (Joyce) Buresh of Platte Center, Nebraska, daughters, Judy Weaver of Kissimmee, Florida, Carolyn (Jerry) Mason of Omaha, Nebraska, Monica (Ron) Scribner of Omaha, Nebraska, Beverly (David) Rosenthal of Lee Summit, Missouri, and Geraldine (David) Wemhoff of Creston, Nebraska, 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.   Sisters, Ruth Dohmen Gerst and Jeanette Asche, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law Lumir and Geraldine Buresh and many nieces and nephews. Art's sons, Gary, Roger (Patty) and Dale, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by husband, Reynold Buresh in 1960, son, Alan in 1973, husband, Arthur Loseke in 2012, son-in-law, David Weaver, parents, Rudolph and Margaret Steiner, brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Marcy Steiner, brother-in-law, Harold Dohmen and brother-in-law, Clinton Asche.

Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph, Hillcrest Hospice or the wishes of the family.
