Alice Becker, age 92 of Columbus, died Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Emerald Nursing and Rehab in Columbus.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are encouraged to St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Monday, June 16 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Cyza. There will be a CDA Rosary on Sunday at 5:00 pm followed by a parish Vigil service at 5:30 pm, all at St. Anthony Church. Visitation will continue from 6-8 pm Sunday, also at the church. Visitation will continue on Monday morning from 9:30 am until service time at the church. Following a luncheon at the church hall, interment will take place in the Osceola Cemetery.
Alice V. (Bohlen) Becker was born January 27, 1933, to Fred E. and Saralee (Easterly) Bohlen in Portis, KS. She grew up on a farm northwest of Downs in Smith County. She attended country schools. Alice graduated from Downs High School in May of 1950.
On October 4, 1950, she was united in marriage to Herman M. Becker at the Catholic Church in Osborne, KS. They lived in Waco, TX until August of 1951 while Herman was in the Air Force. They moved back to Osborne. They also lived in Plainville and Stockton, KS. During this time, she was involved in the children's activities. Alice was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Brownie Scout Leader, 4-H Leader, a Catechist, and was an organist in the Catholic Church. In 1969, the family moved to Osceola, NE. In 1972, Alice went to work for Dale Electronics (Vishay) in Columbus and worked there until retiring in 1998. During these years, she was also an organist for St. Vincent Catholic Church in Osceola for over 40 years. Alice was also a member of the St. Vincent Altar Society and was a volunteer at Good Samaritan.
Alice and Herman enjoyed 59 years of marriage until Herman's death in Feb of 2010. During their years together they enjoyed traveling and their family was their greatest joy. Alice moved to Columbus Place Apartments and became a member of St. Anthony's Church where she was active in Catholic Daughters of America, CEC, and was a parish organist.

Grandchildren: David and Shauna Becker of York, NE, Stephanie and Darrell Scott of Glenvil, NE, Sara and Troy Marshall of Harvard, NE, Kari and Joe McPhillips of Columbus, NE, Jill and Kory Hereth of Lincoln, NE, Scott Becker of Omaha, NE, Janell Torres of Madison, NE, and Cody Torres of Norfolk, NE.
Great grandchildren: Amanda and Jacob Scott, Isaac, Dominic, and Julia McPhillips, Gabriel Becker and Cory Marshall, Janaya and Joslin Parks, and Lillyanna and Abigail Torres
