Alfred Beiermann

Alfred T. Beiermann, age 91, of Columbus, died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Bryan LGH-West in Lincoln.

Alfred T. Beiermann was born March 15, 1926 near St. Bernard in rural Platte County, the son of Charles and Helen (Sueper) Beiermann. He attended St. Bernard Catholic School. On September 13, 1949 Alfred and Norma Jean Korth were united in marriage at St. Bernard Catholic Church. He and Jean farmed a few years before moving to Columbus in 1956. Alfred worked as a carpenter for a number of years, building many homes in Columbus. He taught himself photography, which he did as a sideline. In addition, Alfred worked at NPPD for 5 years and B-D Construction for 24 years. Upon retirement, Alfred continued carpentry work, building cabinets, cupboards and various remodeling projects. He loved to travel with his family and friends, and always enjoyed a good game of cards. He was a self-taught man in many ways and spent lots of time in his favorite rocker studying books and magazines for his next project. Alfred also liked to dance, listen to polkas on Sunday morning and go fishing with family. Alfred was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents. brothers: Matt & Aloys Beiermann and sisters: Colletta Wemhoff and Sr. Gorgonia Beiermann OFM, granddaughter: Angela Kay Beiermann
