Al Mossman

Ernest Allen "Al" Mossman of Columbus died Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at his home in Columbus.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Al was born May 20, 1937 in Towanda, Kansas to Everett Allen and Ethel M. (Walton) Mossman. He attended elementary schools in El Dorado and Butler County, Kansas rural schools and attended Potwin High School in Kansas. On November 2, 1963 he married Elaine J. Wilms in Yankton, South Dakota.

Al served in the U.S. Army in 1957 and 1958 whereupon he received his GED, learned the mechanics trade and became a GM Master Technician. He lived in parts of the country settling in Geneva, Filmore County, Nebraska in 1956 and was employed by Shaner Chevrolet. Al moved to Columbus, Platte County, Nebraska in 1961 and was employed by Nielson Chevrolet. He owned and operated his own business (Al's Repair) in Columbus from 1964 to 2008 when he retired. Al loved cars and spent many hours racing the local short tracks and on the drag strips. He favorite toy was his 1961 Chevrolet Corvette, which he still owned.
