Harold E. Martin, age 91 of Silver Creek died Tuesday; January 25, 2005 at the Genoa Community Long Term Care. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday; January 29, 2005 at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek. The Reverend Bev Hieb will officiate. Visitation will be Friday 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the McKown Funeral Home in Silver Creek. Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial is in the Valley View Cemetery in Genoa.

Harold E. Martin was born September 17, 1913 in Merrick County, Nebraska to George Thomas and Martha (Warden) Martin. He attended country school and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1931. After graduation he continued living with his family working for farmers bailing hay, picking corn or what ever was needed. Harold married Elsie Carlson on September 1, 1938 in Grand Island, Nebraska. The couple lived in Silver Creek their entire married life. Harold worked at the Ordinance Plant in Grand Island and was also janitor at the Silver Creek school. He was a member of the Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed working on cars and fixing anything that he could. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping in his younger years and recently loved meeting with the Senior Citizens and playing cards. Harold attended the United Methodist Church with his wife.
