Bruce James Kershaw, age 80 of Silver Creek died Wednesday; August 11, 2004 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday; August 14, 2004 at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek. The Rev. Bill Ritter will officiate. Burial with military honors by America Legion Post # 263 will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 5-8 p.m. at the church. Visitation will continue Saturday morning 9:00-service time also at the church.
Bruce James Kershaw was born July 27, 1924 in Silver Creek, Nebraska to James and Edith (Paulfrey) Kershaw. He grew up in the Silver Creek area and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1942. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant in Grand Island and farmed near Silver Creek all his life. After his retirement he enjoyed gardening, lawn work and running errands for the farm. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bruce was a member of the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek and a member of the American Legion Post# 263.
