Pauline Kavanaugh, age 82, of Columbus died Tuesday; April 24, 2001 at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday; April 28, 2001 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, located at 18th Ave. & 15th Street in Columbus. The Rev. Tom Weisbecker will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitaion is Friday after 3:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil all at the McKown Funeral Home located at 2922 13th Street. Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Pauline was born January 10, 1919 in Burchard, Nebraska to John and Mary (Byrne) Carson.
Pauline married Dr. Daniel S. Kavanaugh DDS on March 5, 1942 in Table Rock, Nebraska.
She attended the College of St. Mary in Omaha and then worked at the County Extension Office in Pawnee City. In 1946 she and her husband moved to Columbus. She worked at the Nebraskaland Insurance, formerly known as Miller Allied Insurance and Potts Insurance. Pauline also worked at the Platte County Courthouse and also served as Deputy Register of Deeds from 1979 until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Bonaventure Parish for 55 years where she volunteered at the rectory. She was a 50 year member of Catholic Daughters of America and a member of Legion of Mary and Perpetual Adoration.
