Edward T. Kava, age 76, of Silver Creek, Nebraska died Wednesday October 17, 2001 at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday October 20, 2001 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek with Fr. Dave Korth officiating. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visitation is after 4:30 p.m. Friday at St. Lawrence Church in Silver Creek. A Vigil Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday at St. Lawrence Church. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time also at the church.
Edward Kava was born November 11, 1924 in Genoa to John and Tillie (Liss) Kava. On June 17, 1952 he married Patricia Zywiec at St. Anthony's Church in Columbus. Ed lived in and around the Genoa and Silver Creek areas where he farmed for several years. He also worked at Behlen Manufacturing for 14 years until his retirement. Ed was a talented musician and played the violin and button accordian for the Kava Orchestra for many years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, music, and animals. Ed was a member of St. Lawrence Church in Silver Creek.
