Irma Arlene Faiman was born November 19, 1928 along with her twin-sister Wilma, to Alois and Emma Totusek. Irma lived on a farm near Clarkson, NE while attending District #38, a rural school, graduating from high school at age 16. Attending college at a young age, Irma began teaching at 16 years of age, and graduated from college with honors, and a BA in education.
On August 8, 1954 she married Elden Roy Faiman of Lindsay, NE. Irma continued to teach full time until they adopted two boys, Timothy and Steven from the Nebraska Childrens Home. She dedicated most of her time to raising a family while continuing to teach as a substitute for many years.
Irma was a member of several civic committee's, a devoted member of the Newman Grove United Methodist Church, a dedicated teacher, and dedicated mother and wife.
Irma loved the outdoors, enjoyed gardening, raising chickens and rabbits, going to church, and organizing family outings and get-togethers.
She lived in Lindsay, NE till the passing of her husband in 1990 at which time she moved to Columbus, making new friends but always keeping in touch with those she left behind. She recently moved to Rapid City, SD, in May 2002, to be closer to her grandchildren, affectionately known as "granny".
Irma loved watching people and analyzing them. A devoted Christian, Irma was the type of person anyone could talk to, as she had a "listening ear". Believing this was her "calling in life", she faithfully studied and read the written word of our Lord and Savior, a guidance in her day to day life. Now the Lord has called her home, as her work on earth is done.
