John Francis Cave, age 68, of Silver Creek died Thursday; January 2, 2003 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday; January 6, 2003 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek. The Rev. Dave Korth will officiate. A vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the church. Visitation will begin after 4 pm Sunday at the Church. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family choice.
John Francis Cave was born November 6, 1934 in Spalding, NE to George and Mary (Schleich) Cave. He grew up in Genoa and graduated from Genoa High School in 1953. On October 2, 1954 he married Elizabeth Boro in Silver Creek. They lived in Columbus after first being married, then moved to Silver Creek. He worked for Behlen Manufacturing in Columbus for forty years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, completing crosswords, and being with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of Saint Lawrence Catholic Church and the Loup-Platte Duck Club.
